Serve My Wife and Children - Genesis 33

S - Genesis 33:13 But Jacob replied, “You can see, my lord, that some of the children are very young, and the flocks and herds have their young, too. If they are driven too hard, even for one day, all the animals could die. 14 Please, my lord, go ahead of your servant. We will follow slowly, at a pace that is comfortable for the livestock and the children. I will meet you at Seir.”
O - Jacob met Esau and Esau greeted him warmly and offered to go ahead of them and protect them. Jacob refused this offer though and mentioned that the children and livestock may not be able to go at a faster pace. Jacob was thinking of his children and knew what they could handle.
A - I sometimes drive and push my children to do more than they may be able to do. Instead of treating them like an adult, when they are young, and expecting them to be and act like me, I need to be aware that they are still children and that I may need to help or guide them as they are learning. I also need to be aware of the fact that Christa may not be able to do all of the physical things that I may ask of her. I need to be the husband and father that can carry the heavy load for my wife and children.
P - God, I pray that you give me your eyes for my wife and children and treat them with love and respoect and to protect and serve them every single day. I pray that you would give me a spirit of selflessness and of a cheerful heart and mind when I serve. I pray for your protection and blessing over my house and everyone and thing inside of it. I love you God!
