Live a Life of Honesty and Integrity - Genesis 27

S - Genesis 27:24 “But are you really my son Esau?” he asked.
“Yes, I am,” Jacob replied.
O - This is from the story of Jacob stealing the blessing from Esau. This portion is the second time that Isaac has questioned whether this is Jacob or Esau and this is the second time that Jacob lied to his father. The reason that he was lying was so that he would receive the blessing but this would end up being a defining moment in his life that caused a huge amount of stress, hatred, and fear.
A - When I am tempted to lie or deceive, I need to always remember that God is truth and because of this any lie is therefore contrary to God and is a sin against Him. In addition to that, I need to always remember that there are consequences that I will live for throughout the remainder of my life. Is this one little instance worthy of me having stress, fear and potentially hatred for the remainder of my life? I don't think so. I pledge to live a life 100% full of integrity and honesty. There is no such thing as a little lie or a white lie. I am a man of honesty and integrity.
P - God, I come to you today to ask for your forgiveness for those times that I have not been honest or full of integrity. I pray for your forgiveness. I also pray to you today for your help in always living a life of honesty and integrity. I know that without you I am not capable of doing this and I pray that you will be with me, give me strength, and give me wisdom to live this way. Help me to be an example to my children and to engage with them in teaching them this same truth. I praise you today Lord and ask that you bless my family and me.
